Overview
What you can see and do in Matrix depends on your role. This page helps you figure out your role and what it unlocks. It builds on the User Roles & Permissions page with the practical questions that come up most in training.
The roles at a glance
- Seller / standard user. Works leads, opportunities, contacts, and activities for the properties assigned to them.
- Property Admin. Manages a property's setup and data (and, depending on your configuration, that property's contract templates).
- Subscription Admin. Manages users and templates across the whole subscription. Subscription Admins see extra menu options such as Properties, Users, and Templates.
- Leads-only role. A limited role (for example front-desk staff) that can submit leads without full access to the rest of the system.
The exact capabilities of each role depend on how your subscription is configured. If you are unsure, confirm with your Subscription Admin.
"Am I an admin?"
The quickest tell: admins see extra menu options that other users do not, such as Properties, Users, and Templates. If you see those, you have admin access.
If you need admin access to do something (for example manage contract templates) and you do not see the menu for it, you are probably not set as an admin for that area. Ask your Subscription Admin to update your role, or email support@m1intel.com.
Give front desk a leads-only role
If you want front-desk staff to submit leads without giving them access to the rest of Matrix, they can be set to a leads-only role. Ask your Subscription Admin or support to set this up for those users. See also How to Add a Lead in Matrix.
Key takeaway
Most "I cannot find/do X" moments come down to role. If a menu or action is missing, check your role first, then ask an admin. Keeping roles set correctly (sellers, property admins, and a leads-only role for front desk) keeps everyone in the right lane.
