What Are Property Goals?
Property Goals let Matrix admins set weekly sales targets for each user, property by property. Goals give sales managers a clear view of whether the team is on track, and give salespeople a benchmark to work toward inside the platform.
Goals are set per property, so a user who works at two hotels can have different goals at each one.
Who Can Set Goals?
Goals are configured by an Admin user in Matrix. Individual salespeople cannot set their own goals.
How to Set Goals
- Go to Users in the left sidebar
- Open the user you want to set goals for
- Open the Goals tab
- Under User Goals - Weekly, choose a Property
- Enter the weekly targets for that property
- Repeat for each property the user works at
Goals are weekly, per user, per property. A user assigned to three hotels needs targets at each of the three. The Totals row adds them up across properties.
Goal Categories
There are four goal areas, each set as a weekly target:
| Goal | What you set |
|---|---|
| New Leads | How many new leads the user takes on |
| New Opportunities | How many opportunities the user creates, and their total value |
| Definite Opportunities | How many opportunities reach Definite, and their total value |
| Client Meetings | How many client meetings and sales calls the user holds |
Value goals are opportunity value, the total value of the deals in the pipeline. They are not hotel revenue goals. Matrix does not track actual hotel revenue, so there is no revenue goal to set.
Where Goal Progress Shows
- Dashboard > Performance shows each user's actual numbers for the four goal areas, by quantity and value, and a week-by-week view of opportunities created.
- The Sales Readout shows goal numbers alongside the results, scaled to the report's date range. A 14-day report doubles the weekly goal. See The Sales Readout.
Best Practices
Build value goals from your budget, plus slippage. Not every opportunity that goes Definite turns into actual business. Set the opportunity value goals for a segment a little above that segment's revenue budget, so the pipeline you are aiming for covers what you expect to lose along the way.
Set goals before the period begins. Goals are most useful when they are in place at the start of the week, so users can track progress as the week unfolds.
Review and adjust regularly. Goals should reflect current market conditions and team capacity. Review them quarterly at minimum, and adjust for seasonal changes in lead volume or staffing.
Use goals as a coaching tool, not just a scorecard. When a user is consistently falling short, it's a signal to check whether the goal is realistic, whether they need support, or whether their lead flow needs attention.
