The Sales Readout

Updated September 14, 2026

What Is The Sales Readout?

The Sales Readout is Matrix's built-in weekly sales report. It compiles your sales activity, pipeline movement, and upcoming schedule into a single formatted document, generated directly from your live data. No exporting, no copying from multiple tabs, no building the same report you built last week.

Sales leaders use it to brief ownership, prepare for weekly sales meetings, and track team accountability. Because it pulls from the same pipeline data your team works in every day, there is no lag and no manual aggregation required.

The Sales Readout is available under the Reports menu in Matrix.

How to Generate The Sales Readout

  1. Navigate to Reports in the left sidebar
  2. Click The Sales Readout
  3. Select your date range (see options below)
  4. Choose which sections to include using the checkboxes (see below)
  5. Click Generate Report

The report pulls live data from your active pipeline at the moment of generation.

Date Range Options

You can select from preset ranges or define a custom date range:

PresetReporting Period
This Friday WeeklyThe 7-day period ending the upcoming Friday (Fri–Thu)
Last Friday WeeklyThe 7-day period ending the previous Friday (Fri–Thu)
Last 7 DaysRolling 7 days back from today
Last 14 DaysRolling 14 days back from today
Last 30 DaysRolling 30 days back from today
Last MonthThe full prior calendar month
CustomAny start and end date you choose

The selected date range is displayed at the top of the generated report.

How the Friday presets work: If today is Wednesday, March 18, selecting This Friday Weekly gives you March 13–19. Selecting Last Friday Weekly gives you March 6–12.

Note on goals: Goal numbers on the report automatically scale to match the selected time period. A 14-day report doubles the weekly goal targets; a 30-day report adjusts proportionally.

Customizing Sections

All sections are included by default. Before generating, uncheck any sections you do not need for that specific meeting or audience. Use Select All or Clear All to reset quickly.

Activity and Pipeline Sections:

  • Client Meetings and Sales Calls
  • Activities Completed
  • New Leads
  • New Opportunities
  • Definite Opportunities
  • Lost Opportunities
  • Top Accounts

Forward-Looking Sections:

  • Next 7 Days Client Meetings and Sales Calls
  • Next 7 Days Activities

The Next 7 Days sections always show the 7 days following the last date of the selected reporting period, regardless of which date range preset you chose.

Tailoring the Report for Your Audience

A report built for ownership looks different than one built for a sales team huddle.

For ownership / asset managers: Focus on the revenue picture. Keep Definite Opportunities, Lost Opportunities, and Top Accounts. Consider removing the activity detail sections.

For weekly sales team meetings: Keep the full activity view: Client Meetings, Activities Completed, and the Next 7 Days sections. This drives accountability and forward planning.

For multi-property portfolios: Customization applies per report and per meeting. Each property can have a different reporting audience with a different section set.
